Introduced on September 15, 1964, Cadillac stated that the 1965 model “represents the most extensive change in the division’s 62-year history. "The 1965 DeVille Convertible was one of four body styles offered in the midrange series, the others being a Coupe DeVille two-door hardtop, a Sedan DeVille four-door hardtop, and a conventional DeVille four-door sedan. Standard equipment on the DeVille matched the Calais models plus power windows. All 1965 Cadillacs, except for the Fleetwood Sixty Special sedan and the two extended-wheelbase Seventy-Fives, had the same body over a 129.5-inch wheelbase, with width of 79.9-inches and a length of 224-inches. Cadillac has gained a reputation for producing quality automobiles and this particular DeVille, which is reported to be "original from new" is no acceptation to displaying their high level of craftsmanship.
