The new elegance of the 48 Packard body style received the award for Fashion Car of the Year Gold Medal by the New York Fashion Academy. This stunning automobile exemplifies that fact. Sporting a new, professional paint job and all new interior, this stunning automobile turns every head as it glides down the road with its 327 cubic-inch inline eight-cylinder engine, and original three-speed automatic transmission. Finished in a beautiful shade of red with complementing beige soft leather interior, this Packard is ready to ride down the road as easily as it could be admired by onlookers while resting. All mechanical items have been properly attended to by a former steward. The starter, generator, radiator, heater core have all been refurbished. The fuel lines have been flushed and the gas tank pulled and cleaned that no unwanted debris is present to clog up the Carter two-barrel carburetor. A new power convertible top was installed and all hydraulic cylinders were refurbished. As most restorers know, to do a paint job on a car properly requires removal of every bit of exterior accoutrement, as was performed on this example. While those elements were removed, all chrome and stainless bits were properly refurbished, and when replaced, new rubber seals were installed including on the seldom-seen dual spotlights. The steering wheel was restored by Quality Restorations, Inc down to the newly chromed inserts. This example was in such good condition when assessed for restoration that it rides on its original, detailed wheels complemented by the original Packard hubcaps, and finished off by wide whitewall tires. The bottom of the car was carefully detailed is well to match the preserved quality of the rest of the car and a peek in the trunk compartment will reveal a clean presentation with the correct spare, jack and tools completely intact. This is one of the last classic designs manufactured by the Packard Motor Car Company and will surely be of interest and value to collectors for generations to come.
