Original Duesenberg engine J-249 is the basis for this well-executed recreation of a short wheelbase Murphy Boattail Speedster. The rebuilt original engine has been fitted with a Leo Gephart/ Brian Joseph manufactured dual-carburetor supercharger. The engine is strong and powerful, connected to an original, rebuilt transmission. Appearance is further enhanced by the correct Marshall Merkes external exhaust system, fully enclosed sidemount spare tires with mirrors, dual trumpet horns, wing windows and dual Pilot Ray driving lights that turn with steering input. Beautiful, white-faced, swept-hand instrumentation is found in the engine-turned dashboard.

According to researchers, the original car may have been the only Duesenberg to be fitted with a front bumper on the rear. This detail has not been overlooked. The car underwent a four year restoration which was executed by Kevin and Jason Marsh of Utah. Every effort and many dollars were spent to assure concours quality attention to detail and correctness. Utilizing a combination of original and reproduction components, top Duesenberg experts have assisted in the recreation of this elegantly styled car. With the use of factory photos and a sister car, the body was faithfully recreated as originally produced, including the hand polished aluminum upper bodywork. Exacting details were considered in the windshield, door handles, window frames, chrome body trim, running boards and step plates.
