According to its very extensive file, this Ford Mustang GT “5.0” Convertible was purchased new by James T. Austin, of Hobart, Indiana, after he saw the car being unloaded from a trailer at a local Ford dealership in September 1987. Over the next 17 years, Austin meticulously maintained the car, only driving it in warm weather and on special occasions before his passing in 2004. The Mustang was left to his son Kevin, who occasionally drove the car and continued to pamper it just like his father did before parting with it in 2009, shortly before it was purchased by Mr. Pack.

This Mustang is finished in Black with lower Titanium accent paint and a White and Smoke leather interior, and it is well optioned, with air conditioning, leather sport seats, an AM/FM stereo with a cassette player, and cruise control all present. In Mr. Pack’s care, this Mustang was subject to the same amount of careful preservation as its first owners bestowed upon it.

This Mustang comes incredibly well documented, and in the car’s history file is a three-page article written about the car and its history by Kevin Austin, as well as the original window sticker, several Indiana license plates, numerous pieces of factory literature about the 1988 Mustang, numerous service records from throughout the car’s life, and even photographs of the car from the day James Austin brought it home. Additionally, the car’s original headlamp and original speedometer, both which were replaced during James Austin’s ownership, are included with the car, to further ensure its factory individuality.

This car is presented in truly fantastic condition, and it is undoubtedly one of the most compelling and well-kept 5.0s to ever be offered for sale.
