  • A tastefully upgraded Chevelle SS 396/375 Convertible

396 cu. in. OHV V-8 engine, four-barrel carburetor, automatic transmission, independent front suspension with coil springs, independent rear suspension with leaf springs, and four-wheel power brakes. Wheelbase: 98 in.

This show-stopping burnt orange Convertible benefits from a 396 big block engine that has been nicely dressed with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, finned aluminum valve covers, a Mallory ignition, a chrome alternator, and coated tube headers flowing to an oversized Flowmaster exhaust system. Two other preferred features found on the car are power steering and power brakes.

Inside, the fresh black interior remains largely stock, yet with a few modern conveniences, including a Sony CD sound system with an amplifier, a tilt column with a sport wheel, a console for the automatic transmission selector, and front and rear seat belts. The black folding top is in very nice shape, as is the brilliantly colored body, with its straight lines and quality alignment. New chrome and polished trim can be found adorned on the entire exterior. American Racing-style five-spoked alloy wheels are mounted with quality Kumho 17-inch tires in both the front and rear. Additionally, the car received its current burnt orange hue in November 2005.

Chevrolet’s Chevelle has always been the “go-to” muscle car for the enthusiast seeking a roomy platform to modify and enhance the factory performance numbers. From the fully detailed chassis to the body-color-matched inner fender wells, this Chevelle is set up to drive or show with pride.
