In 1965, Oldsmobile offered the 442 option on their popular F-85 and Cutlass mid-size line. Besides a mild facelift, the engine for the 442 was enlarged to 400-cid and with an automatic or three-speed manual transmission in addition to the four-speed, the 442 now stood for 400 cubic inches, four-barrel carburetor and two exhausts. Meant originally as an answer to the success of the GTO, the 442 definitely found its own cadre of devoted fans. This example features air conditioning, power steering and brakes.
