This has got to be my favorite lot of everything that I’m selling. It’s the build-it-yourself Outlaw Starter Kit, where you can build your own dream version of a short-wheelbase, sport-purpose R-inspired hot rod, based on the donor car, which is a 1968 911 L, original color Bahama Yellow.

What comes with this lot is the ’68 L, a ’69 S 2-liter long-block, an early 901 transmission, an early Scheel seat, replacement dash, great patinaed decklid and front hood, great right-side fender, a fiberglass S bumper, rear bumpers, louvered vented windows, perforated floor pan footrests, four Minilites, some brake rotors, some Bilstein shocks, and let’s not forget, my own Nike 277 SB Dunks. But there’s more than that. I’m also throwing in my own signature MOMO steering wheel, complete with the outlaw horn button.

So here it is. It’s your opportunity to build your dream hot rod. Sure, some assembly will be required, and obviously it’s gonna need some paint and bodywork…and there probably will be one or two parts that you need to buy, which are not included. What you see is what you get. Good luck!

—Magnus Walker

Magnus Walker’s Porsches, and indeed his distinctive attitude and approach to air-cooled hot-rodding, have inspired no small number of enthusiasts around the world. If you have spent years staring at his builds, dreaming about creating a sport-purpose 911 of your own, this truly one-of-a-kind Urban Outlaw Starter Kit is for you.

The core of the kit is a 1968 911 L coupe, chassis number 11810044. Per its accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, it was completed on 19 July 1967; a Kardex copy on file notes it was originally delivered to Wenningstedt on the German island of Sylt, a popular vacation destination. It was originally finished in cheerful Bahama Yellow, though little of the original paint has survived to the present. Components from Walker’s collection, including a rear decklid, additional hood, right rear fender, rear body panel, and a fiberglass 911 S front bumper, round out the supplied bodywork. The car could be completely repainted, or the honest patina of pieces like the hood and decklid could be selectively preserved—the choice is yours.

Power will come from a type 901/10 911 S 2.0-liter long block, number 6390994. The engine is not accompanied by its original fuel injection system, leaving its builder the option to run it with either injection or carburetors. This is paired with a 901/2 five-speed gearbox, a rare unit used on early 911 S examples.

A replacement dashboard, Scheel bucket seat, perforated floor footrests, a shifter, and 911 R-style louvered quarter windows will get you started on the buildout of the cabin. The kit also includes four Minilite wheels (plus the steelies the car currently rides on), four brake rotors, and Bilstein shocks.

Of course, having all the bits and pieces on hand is only one part of the equation: A clear creative vision, and yes, additional components and plenty of work, will be required to see this project through to completion. For inspiration, a Magnus Walker Special Edition MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, as well as Nike SB Dunk “277” sneakers and an Urban Outlaw hat and stickers, are all part of the kit.

Whether you are a veteran fabricator or a total beginner, if you are looking for the perfect starting point for your dream 911, this Urban Outlaw Starter Kit is an incredible blank canvas—a unique opportunity to take the first steps on your next project with the Urban Outlaw himself.
