“In 1964, Ford Motor Company asked Shelby American to turn their secretary’s car into a race winner to help them sell Mustangs,” said Carroll Shelby, founder of Shelby American. “Our Shelby GT350 ruled its class at the track and was feared by GM and Chrysler owners on the street. Enthusiasts have anticipated the GT350’s return since it went out of production in 1970. Now my band of hot rodders has created a car worthy of the name.”

As Shelby so clearly put it, the concept behind the 2011–2014 GT350 was to build a car that was light, nimble, and powerful. Beginning with the “small block” 5.0-liter Ford Mustang GT as its base, the Shelby American team worked with experts from Ford Racing, Goodyear, Borla, Cragar, and Baer to create a car that is fast and has razor sharp handling.

This rare convertible features a lively, naturally aspirated 5.0 V-8. Its 430 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque make these cars a thrill to drive. More than just a punchy engine, every major segment of the base Mustang is enhanced or replaced by Shelby to create the ultimate balanced performance pony car that is true to the spirit of the 1965–1970 Shelby GT350; some of the standard performance enhancements added to the 2012 GT350 include caster/camber plates, six-piston Shelby/Wilwood front brake kit, Shelby rear Eradispeed brake rotor upgrade, front and rear brake duct and cooling package, exhaust by Borla, and Goodyear performance tires mounted on attractive Shelby Series 19-inch Cragar wheels.

With thoughtfully designed styling and performance modifications evoking the rich heritage of the Shelby Mustang, this rare 2012 Shelby GT350 convertible presents in as-new condition with just under 34 miles indicated on the odometer at time of cataloguing. The original Ford window sticker, books, and rare Museum Delivery Certificate accompany the car. Here represents a rare opportunity to acquire a seldom-seen convertible version of one of the finest of the modern breed of Shelby performance cars.
