Spearheading Mercedes-AMG’s efforts in GT racing, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 has proven to be a formidable opponent and fierce adversary in the crucible of motorsport, and its success speaks to the platform’s reliability and competitiveness. With production beginning in early 2016, 106 cars have been produced and are being campaigned by approximately 50 teams. Within that time, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 achieved 85 overall victories and 168 class victories in a total of 450 races thus far. These cars have appeared in a number of the world’s most challenging motorsport events, including the 24 Hours of Dubai, 24 Hours of Nürburgring, and the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.
Proceeds of the sale of this Mercedes-AMG GT3 will benefit the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation. Active in over 40 countries with support from numerous athletes supporting over 100 projects around the world, the foundation aims to use the power of sports to support disadvantaged children worldwide.
Mercedes-AMG is further expanding its partnership with the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation with the “Passion for Good” initiative based on the existing long-term commitment to the foundation which was co-founded by Mercedes-Benz in 2000. “Passion for Good” directly connects motorsports, AMG’s greatest passion, with the Mercedes-AMG corporate social responsibility commitment. For every driven racing kilometer of the Performance Teams of Mercedes-AMG Motorsport in the GT3 racing series, Mercedes-AMG donates €1 to the projects of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation and initiates a broad scale Laureus Sport for Good campaign for passionate “petrol heads.” With the Laureus Sport for Good engagement and especially “Passion for Good,” Mercedes-AMG fulfils its social responsibility and helps to support many disadvantaged children and adolescents through the power of sports.
Designed to support the foundation, this particular Mercedes-AMG GT3 boasts a number of unique finishes, helping it to stand out from the pack. First and foremost, chassis no. 50’s total output is an uprated 650 bhp, due to different software and hardware modifications like the removal of its FIA-required restrictors. The car has been finished in special chrome paintwork, providing a complete mirror-like reflection, with Laureus’ logo being left on the doors in bare carbon fiber. Fitted with a performance exhaust system lacking mufflers, the car has many exposed carbon fiber parts, including the front and rear diffusor, rear wings, hood louvres, and radiator grille. Inside, the car is fitted with special matte black paintwork for the chassis, a passenger seat, and numerous exposed carbon fiber parts, including the center console, door sills, instrument panel, and door panels.
Offering exceptional levels of performance in what is perhaps the most attractive bodywork on today’s GT3 grid, this Mercedes-AMG GT3 represents a wonderful opportunity to support a worthy cause.
