While a well-restored bike has its charms, a sound original example with full provenance is of course very desirable. This Ducati 125 Sport is the very first bike to be owned by Carlo Saltarelli and is one of the final 125 Sports produced. It is finished in the signature colours of metallic blue with gold accents and fitted with alloy rims. The 125 Sport is capable of 70+ mph, while the engine revs to 8,500 rpm. A bike just like this one—and not a fresh rebuild—finished third in the Motogiro d’Italia in 2003. One can restore a bike or car any number of times, but it is only original once.
