The Triumph Trident is regarded by many as the first true modern superbike. Introduced in 1968, this model was the last major motorcycle developed by Triumph Engineering at Meriden, and was the first modern-era, mass-produced, multi-cylinder production motorcycle. They were primarily created to meet the demands of the American market.
The bike being offered is numbers matching with a full rebuild. The engine has had a reground crankshaft, new valves and guides and .020 over pistons installed. All new bearings for the wheels, engine and gearbox. T160 Trident chain tensioner and oil pump upgrades. The instruments have been rebuilt. A beautiful Don Hutchinson application of paint and new tires help complete the look. Winner in Texas, 2011 at the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association (AHRMA) event; 1960’s British bikes class.
