Please note this car is titled as 1974

One of the true paragons of sports car design, the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona claims a level of renown that transcends the automotive niche, making it a bona fide cultural icon. This finely maintained and sympathetically restored example benefits from decades of care in the possession of doting Swiss enthusiasts, as well as certification by Ferrari Classiche from July 2024.

According to a history report by marque expert Marcel Massini, chassis number 16929 was specified as a European-market example in left-hand-drive configuration with instruments reading in kilometres. Finished in Rosso Chiaro paint over an interior trimmed in Nero leather by Connolly, the Ferrari completed assembly in October 1973. A month later the Daytona was delivered to SAVAF (Société Anonyme pour la Vente des Automobiles Ferrari), an official marque importer for Switzerland. Although details of early ownership are currently unknown, the 365 GTB/4 was first registered in Liechtenstein in March 1974.

By the late 1990s the Daytona was owned by Garage Buess in Basel, Switzerland. In 2000, the car passed into a short, documented chain of Swiss owners. The first of these caretakers retained possession for 14 years before presenting the berlinetta at the 11th Annual Lunch of the Ferrari Club Switzerland in Romanshorn in July 2014, and soon commissioned a full restoration by Ivo Salvadori of Pratteln.

Next sold to a collector in Oberriden in late 2014, the Ferrari was further exhibited at the Zürich Classic Car Award in August 2017 and the Dolder Classic in September 2020, after which it received further attention from Reidholz Garage AG in October 2018. The Daytona was subsequently acquired by The Tailored For Speed Collection in late 2023.

The GTB/4 was then issued a Ferrari Classiche “Red Book” in July 2024, authenticating the presence of the matching-numbers engine and gearbox, and cementing chassis 16929’s desirable state of originality. Accompanied by owner’s manuals, tools, and a spare wheel, this sympathetically restored example of Maranello’s last great vintage touring berlinetta would make for a superb addition to any sporting collection.
