The 348 was a marked departure from not only the 328, but from all prior Ferrari road cars. With the 348, Ferraris tubular frame design was abandoned and replaced with a stiff monocoque structure with a tubular sub-frame in the rear. The Ferrari 348 debuted at the 1989 Frankfurt Auto Show and was an immediate success. The Pininfarina design still carried similar design ques from the Testarossa and 328, but the engine was now a 3.4-liter V-8. The 348 TB signifies a 3.4-liter 8-cylinder engine, “T” for transverse mounted gearbox and “B” for berlinetta. This Ferrari 348 has been sparingly driven, has all the attributes that set a Ferrari apart and comes complete with tools, books and records. Sources state that only 2,895 examples of the 348 TB were produced.
