The Pininfarina designed Ferrari F355, was known internally as Type F129 and built from May 1994 to 1999. An evolution of the Ferrari 348, it would be succeeded by the Ferrari 360. It is powered by a 3.5-liter V-8 that is mounted midship and was available as a two-seat coupe, convertible (spider) or targa, such as this car.

Design emphasis for the F355 was placed on significantly improved performance, as well as drivability across a wider range of speeds and in different environments that included being more user-friendly to the city traveler. Aerodynamic designs for the car included over 1,300 hours of wind tunnel analysis. The car incorporates a “Nolder” profile on the upper portion of the tail with its slight uptick, and a fairing on the underbody generates downforce when the car is being exercised at speed.

At launch, two models were available: the coupe Berlinetta priced at $130,000 and the targa topped GTS. The Spider (convertible) version, priced at $137,000 was introduced in 1995. The F355 was the last in the series of mid-engined Ferraris with the “Flying Buttress” (concave) rear window, a lineage going back to the 1965 Dino 206 GT, unveiled at the Paris Auto Show. It is also the last of the era’s targa models, in which the removable roof section was stored behind the seats.

This particular Ferrari F355 GTS is presented in black with black interior and the approximately 21,000 miles are reported as actual. The car has a six-speed manual gearbox, and less than 1,000 miles ago, received an engine out service that included valve guides and a new clutch. Four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, power windows, radio, books, tool roll and a car cover are also included.

A total of 2,577 F355 GTS models were produced and 2,048 were delivered with the six-speed manual like this car; with an additional receiving the F1 transmission. This presents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a very collectable and uncommon Ferrari.
