In 1979 in Paris on rue de la Paix; in London on New Bond Street; in New York on Fifth Avenue, plus 91 other countries around the world, Cartier was recognized as being the international jeweler par excellence. Its designs are legendary in the world of luxury and good taste. Designer Series Lincolns had special colors and appointments and along with the Cartier Edition, other designer editions with special treatments were represented by Bill Blass, Givenchy and Gucci.

The Cartier Edition was offered in Light Champagne with a distinctive matching Landau vinyl roof and body side moldings that are highlighted by fine Dark Red paint stripes. Color-keyed turbine-style cast aluminum wheels were also standard. The Cartier Edition interior also exhibits the Champagne color throughout the interior with the Dark Red accent on the seats and door pull straps. Six-way power front seats are part of the Designer Editions, as is the interior light group and the many standards that were part of the package for every Mark V that came off the production line. The instrument panel of every Designer Edition Mark V bears the owner’s nameplate in 22-karat gold finish. The Cartier monogram appears on the rear decklid and the Cartier signature is in the opera windows.

This Cartier edition Lincoln Mark V is reported as original and maintains its original paint and interior; it is stated that “the car is original throughout.” Said to be driven sparingly, the odometer displays less than 20,000 miles with the title stating “exempt.” Among the equipment is the 400-cid, 159-hp V-8 engine with automatic transmission, leather and vinyl interior (cloth was also available), Landau vinyl roof, trunk carpet, AM/FM radio, air conditioning, original spare tinted glass, tilt steering wheel, cruise control; power windows, steering and four-wheel disc brakes. Complete with owner’s manual, original window sticker and original service documents and an extra set of keys, this Lincoln is in exceptional condition and is ready for the open road.
