All new sheet metal would grace the 1939 Ford Deluxe series, while new mechanical innovations were seen, such as improved engine cooling and the use of hydraulic brakes on all four wheels, despite Henry Ford's protest that mechanical units were better. The most popular body style in this year's Deluxe series was the Tudor sedan with 144,333 produced.

Considered one of the most desirable prewar Ford V-8s, it is rare indeed to find one in the condition of the example presented here. The Ford is powered by a 221-cid, 85-hp V-8 engine that is mated to a floor-shift , three-speed manual transmission. Looking period-correct with its black paint and tan cloth interior, it also features dual mirrors, clock with locking glovebox door, “banjo” steering wheel, whitewall tires and factory wheels with the appropriate trim components.
