The CJ-8 Jeep Scrambler is the long wheelbase version of the well-respected CJ-7 and being a Jeep gives assurance of being tough, rugged and reliable. Period ads touted the vehicle as a “fun loving, sun loving, cargo toting four-wheel drive charmer.” This very nicely presented dark red example has model-specific contrasting graphics and is powered by the optional 258-cid, 110-hp inline six-cylinder engine that is connected to a floor-shift four-speed manual transmission.

Four-wheel drive is accompanied by many desirable features that includes bucket seats, center console, stainless steel front grille guard, matching rear bumpers, running boards, stainless steel exterior hardware, spray-on bedliner, wire light-guards, easy-access spare, power steering, clean engine bay, factory rollbar, bright alloy wheels and BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires. The Scrambler had a limited production run over six years; 5,405 units were built during the 1983 model year.
