First unveiled on the shores of Lake Como at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in 2016, Zagato’s take on the Aston Martin Vanquish took an already attractive car and turned it into a truly spectacular design. Bearing several styling hallmarks from its coachbuilder, including Zagato’s famous “double bubble” roof and signature wraparound glass, the car remains quintessentially an Aston Martin at first glance, from the grille shape, side strakes, and hints of the Vulcan and One-77 seen in the “bladed” LED taillights. It is a masterclass in automotive design.
Produced alongside convertible and shooting brake versions of the Vanquish—with 99 units of each produced, plus 28 Speedsters—the Zagato Coupé presents arguably the most attractive and subtle body style, as sophisticated as it is sporty.
Built at Aston Martin’s factory in Gaydon, Warwickshire, this example was delivered new to its native England in February 2017. It presents just as it left the factory, finished in Scorching Black paintwork over a Pure Black leather interior with the quilted Zagato motif on the seats and headlining alongside full-length herringbone facia trim. It is equipped with the desirable Villa d’Este package, an option costing over £16,000, alongside the One-77 style steering wheel trimmed in leather. This package consists of badges, wheel spokes, and side strakes finished in gold—a theme that is continued within the car, with the dashboard vents, centre console switchgear, and steering wheel also featuring gold trim.
Acquired by the consigning owner in December 2017, the car today presents in excellent condition throughout, with just 1,768 miles showing on its odometer at the time of cataloguing. Its last service was carried out in November of 2023 at Aston Martin Walton-on-Thames, where it received an oil change and brake fluid service. The car returned to the workshop in January 2025 for further routine main dealer servicing. Invoices for these service jobs are available to view on file.
A spectacular combination of British and Italian craftsmanship, Aston Martin’s Vanquish Zagato is without doubt one of the most remarkable and attractive cars produced by both companies thus far into the 21st Century. Sophisticated yet subtle, this would be an excellent contender for a road trip across Europe and is versatile enough to be used on a regular basis. This tastefully specified example has been well cared for and awaits its next owner for the spirited drives it was designed to deliver.
