For 1967 and 1968, Cadillac restyled their celebrated DeVille models into what many consider to be the most attractive Cadillac of the 1960s. With a forward-leaning front, a sculpted-slab profile, and protruding, if subtle, fins emphasizing the entire taillight surrounds, the 1967-1968 design proved to be both endearing and enduring. The 1968 DeVille models distinguish themselves as the last Cadillacs with “stacked” dual headlights and their last models with vent windows. New for 1968 was the intrepid 472 V-8 engine and the availability of front disc brakes.

This 1968 Cadillac Sedan DeVille is the Hardtop version without window posts and is an honest example of a black plate California car. It has an older repaint in metallic brown, a tan interior, and an optional black vinyl roof. It comes with the original owner’s manual and warranty booklet as well as the original jack. With good panel fit, the doors of this stately Cadillac shut, as they should, with a solid “thunk.”
