This represents a PHS documented 1966 Pontiac GTO that is reported with excellent original documentation that shows the car was first sold in Kansas. The owner reports that approximately 6,000 miles ago, (now reads 74,595, though title exempt) the then-new owner removed the original drivetrain that “was so authentic that it appeared to have the original fuel pump still intact” for a duplicate 389-cid Tri-power engine with an Art Carr-built 200-4R automatic transmission installed to create a more modern driving experience.

The GTO has been repainted once, with the pinstripe deleted. The interior is completely original with the exception of adding a tach, period accurate Stewart-Warner gauges and an upgraded stereo in the glovebox. All knobs show original patina. Even the original glovebox was preserved. Car comes with all original parts, including the 14-inch wheels and 3.23 rear end, correct engine and transmission, and all supporting PHS documentation, along with original window sticker, service manuals, plus the original doctor owner’s fuel log.

This current owner offers the great opportunity for this modern driver to readily be brought back to original status. The original engine could use a refresh; the prior owner thought the future owner would want to make sure all parts were to their own personal specifications. These original parts accompany the GTO in its sale and are also on-site.
