One of five station wagon choices offered by Chevrolet in 1955 this 210 Townsman was joined in the fleet by the 150 Handyman, 210 Handyman (two-door wagons), Bel Air Beauville four-door and the new Nomad. At home, work or play; the 210 Townsman was advertised in period as having “sports car looks and performance.” The liftgate has a wide opening that allows easy access to the plentiful cargo area with room for six and luggage. It was proudly touted as a great all-purpose car for year-round use.

This particular Townsman wagon was purchased new by a farmer in Kansas who kept the Chevy until 1997 when it was acquired by the second owner and brought to Florida. It was recently in the possession of the second owner’s daughter. The odometer indicates approximately 51,000 miles and is believed to be correct, but the title does state “exempt” due to the vehicles age.

The Townsman is powered by the optional (and first year of availability) 265 cubic inch V-8 engine and also has the automatic transmission. The car is painted in its original color of light blue with white roof. The interior is presented in similar two-tone colors and features new carpet, new upholstery on the front seat with original door panels and rear set upholstery. The car also has distinctive side trim, color-keyed steel wheels with hubcaps, dual mirrors and whitewall tires. The wagon is reported as very clean throughout and a great driver.
