Along with a new-for-1960 Lark station wagon; the 1960 model year saw the introduction of the Lark convertible, like this car on offer. The newest Lark was equally at home under the sun or moon and was built for those who wanting to be one with the road and sky. With its introduction, the Lark’s marvelous maneuverability and stable agility were now able to be enjoyed while reveling in the refreshing breezes and warm sunshine that only a convertible could provide.
The Lark was available with both a six-cylinder and an eight-cylinder engine; this example has the 259.2-cid, 180-hp V-8 unit and is noted on the back fascia with the badge Lark VIII. This green with tan soft-top and tan interior car also has a Fightomatic automatic transmission, AM radio and power steering. It displays an older restoration and also has factory wheel covers and whitewall tires. Studebaker asserted in period advertising that “this is a perfect blending of happy handling, scintillating styling, queenly comfort and a wonderful way to enjoy the weather.”
