This 1957 E-code Ford Thunderbird produces 270 horsepower from the 312-cid V-8 engine that is mated to a floor-mounted manual transmission. This is an increase of 25 horsepower over normal specifications. The E-code’s primary modification is the installation of twin four-barrel carburetors and corresponding intake manifold. The Ford has received a frame-off restoration, finished in Colonial White with a black-and-white interior. The E-code is equipped with removable hardtop, wire wheels, Town and Country radio and power steering and brakes. The 1957 E-code Ford Thunderbirds were modified by Detroit Steel Tubing of Southfield, Michigan, under limited contract to Ford Motor Co.
