Ordered on 14 December 1932, chassis 88MY was sold to the Right Honourable William Humble Eric Ward, the Third Earl of Dudley. On 20 March 1933, it was delivered to Thrupp & Maberly at Cricklewood for a Sports Sedanca de Ville body.
Presented in black, the car is attractive with red coachlining to the mouldings, wheel discs and faux canework. There is some swelling of the doors, some flaws in the paint, and the roof covering is in need of attention, but the brightwork is in generally good condition.
Leather seating in the chauffeur’s compartment is well-patinated. The dashboard, however, is lovely, well arranged and fitted with extra equipment. In all, this is a handsome and sporty Phantom II and, with some detailing, will become quite a stunner.
