As if the standard Viper wasn’t aggressive enough, Dodge introduced the track-ready ACR at SEMA in 2014. The car’s 8.4-liter V-10 engine, capable of producing 645 horsepower and 600 poun-feet of torque, remained unchanged, although a number of other significant revisions were made to further enhance the model’s performance. For the first time with the Viper, the car was fitted with carbon ceramic brake discs and calipers, specifically built by Brembo. Handling was further improved with an adjustable suspension manufactured by Bilstein, and a set of bespoke tires produced by Kumho specifically for the ACR trim level. A six-speed manual was Dodge’s sole transmission offering for the ACR, and a capable limited-slip differential helped manage power to the rear wheels. By January 2018, Dodge had ceased Viper production, and final production figures show just 585 United States-market chassis sold during the model’s last production year.

The 2017 ACR offered here is presented in a menacing 3M Satin Black vinyl wrap with red GTS racing stripes. This custom exterior wrap was designed and applied by Distinct Wraps of Gaithersburg, Maryland.

Underneath this vinyl livery, the car’s factory finish of Venom Black with Bright White GTS racing stripes remains. The car’s tidy interior is clothed in black alcantara with red stitching, as well as optional carbon fiber trim accents with Viper logo sill plates. Importantly, this example is equipped with the Extreme Aero Package, arguably the most desirable option for a Viper ACR. This $6,900 option added an adjustable rear wing, front dive planes, a number of removable parts, including removable hood louvres, brake ducts, and diffuser strakes. This remarkable aero kit helps the car produce an incredible 1,764 pounds of downforce at top speed, the most of any production car at the time.

Presented today showing fewer than 4,350 miles at time of cataloguing, this carefully enjoyed and desirably specified Viper ACR is an exemplary offering from the last year of Viper production.
