In April 2017, at the New York Auto Show, Dodge debuted their new Challenger SRT Demon. Essentially a street-legal drag car, the Demon was powered by 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V-8 which puts out an incredible 840 horsepower and 717 pound-feet of torque. The engine is backed by an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission that can be shifted via steering-mounted paddles. The Demon is capable of screaming past 60 mph in just 1.9 seconds and can destroy the quarter mile in 9.14 seconds at 152 mph. Further to its drag-racing capabilities, the Demon came standard with unique drag tires, an automated transmission brake with launch control function, ventilated “Air Grabber” hood, and, of course, a selectable “Drag” driving mode. Immediately collectible since new, only 3,300 examples of this coveted super-coupe were produced.
This 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon offered here is the 658th example built, and it is presented today showing fewer than 5,275 miles since new. Finished the boisterous shade of TorRed over the non-standard Demon Logo Laguna leather/ Alcantara interior, this particular Demon is quite nicely specified. The bespoke exterior graphics are rendered in 3M Satin Black vinyl; they were designed and installed by Distinct Graphics of Gaithersburg, Maryland.
The car’s accompanying window sticker notes a laundry list of optional equipment provided by the “Preferred 26M Package”, notwithstanding a rear seat (in leather), Harman Kardon premium sound system, heated/ventilated front seats, and Demon-branded Nitto drag radial tires. The car is presently accompanied by its serialized Demon Crate—a staggering $1 option—which includes a floor jack, cordless impact gun, narrow front drag wheels, torque wrench, tire pressure gauge, fender cover, and tool bag. The car’s original window sticker, owner’s manual, compressor, fuse box, car cover, and several pieces of serialized artwork from SRT Demon designer, Ralph Gilles are also included with this demonic hell-raiser. Furthermore, the Racelogic VBox—a $4,136 option—also accompanies this unique example.
Lastly, the buyer of this car will receive a transferrable extended warranty from CustomEdge/Warrantech of Bedford, Texas. Purchased by the consignor when new, this warranty is valid until 32,000 miles, or May 2026.
