The history of the Radiobar dates back to the days of Prohibition with the need to have a functional piece of furniture where the liquor and glasses could be stored out of sight. This was made possible by the Radiobar Company of America, founded by Earnest J. Krause, a Beverly Hills inventor and businessman.
Radiobars can be seen in movie classics such as Gold Diggers (1933), Angels with Dirty Faces (1938), It's a Wonderful Life (1946), The Cincinnati Kid (1965).
