Toyota Land Cruiser 40-series production ran from 1960 to 1984. During which time they built quite a reputation as durable off-road vehicles. The BJ40 was launched in 1974, and with it came a new 3.0-liter diesel engine. The ‘B’ designated a diesel engine while the ‘F’ designated a gasoline engine for this model. The ‘B’ series was never originally sold in this United States, which makes it a desirable vehicle.
This 1976 Toyota BJ40 Land Cruiser is presented in blue with a white roof and gray interior, and is reported as originally from Costa Rica. The Land Cruiser is powered by a 3.0-liter four-cylinder diesel engine paired to a floor-shift manual transmission. The truck also features floor-shift four-wheel-drive. The owner states the engine was rebuilt in 2011, and has been driven 500 miles since. The interior has been reupholstered in gray cloth and features a front bench style seat and two rear jump seats. The car rides on new Mudstar Radial M/T tires with factory wheels. Ignition and door key both work throughout the car. It comes with original documentation from Costa Rica, including owner's cards and receipts from the travel/tourist company that utilized it in this locale. It is also reported with a variety of extra parts.
