Even more dramatic than the new appearance of the Ford passenger cars were the changes made to the truck lineup for 1938. An all-new cab, front end sheetmetal, rear fenders, and running boards highlighted Ford’s first completely new pickup body since 1931 which incorporated a steel floor with stamped-in skids. The 85-Series designation noted the horsepower of the ubiquitous Ford Flathead V-8.

There’s no denying the good looks of the ‘38 Ford and this example is certainly no exception. Resplendent in two-tone gray and black while accented by red painted wheels fitted with wide white wall tires and complimentary red pin stripes, this is one truck folks will no doubt remember. It is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission and described by the consigner as a nice older ground-up restoration.
