The Buick Special for 1956 retained its popular sweepspear side motif, but it now had round wheelhouse cutouts, new taillights, and a new, slightly forward-thrusting grille. Specials had three oval Ventiports per front fender this year, keeping in tradition of the period. This beautiful Buick has recently received a complete and comprehensive appraisal by an independent appraiser. It is stated that most of the paint is factory original, with the exception of the white panels. It is also stated to have its original interior with a perfect dash and the miles are also believed to be correct though it should be noted that the title shows exempt. The car has been driven at speeds up to 60-mph, and it is said to drive smooth and straight, with fully operational dash gauges, including the redline speedometer.

In looking at the underside of the car, there are no reported rust issues and no presence of undercoating. The original spiral shocks are still in place, the rocker panels are still solid and the associated drain holes are still present, the body mounts are clean and solid.

Among the features on this Buick is a smooth running 322-cid V-8 engine that starts easily with no valvetrain noise or smoke. It has been mildly upgraded with an alternator replacing the generator. This unit is matched to a smooth-shifting Dynaflow automatic transmission. Other equipment includes power steering, heater/defroster in working order, Safety Group, twin side mirrors, working factory Sonomatic AM radio with power antenna, clock, twin visor mirrors with the phrase “Buick is a beauty too” found on them, very nice paint in Carlsbad Black and Dover White, a “super-clean,” rip-free interior in the same black and ivory color combination, and new whitewall radial tires on new chrome wire wheels that offer a most comfortable ride.
