In 1940, Oldsmobile touted themselves as having the best-looking car on the road, no matter which of their styles or which series of car you chose. Appealing new front ends with streamlined curves and contours set the Oldsmobile apart from other cars, along with their impressively large bodies. The cars were wider and roomier inside, with luxurious and expensively furnished interiors that also featured more comfortable seating for long jaunts. Oldsmobile also was well-known in this period for providing an automobile that was good handling, Fisher-bodied, smooth riding, had power to spare, safety oriented, and had the famous Oldsmobile quality built into every car that left the production floor.

Offered here is a sensationally-styled, top-of-the-line Series 90 touring sedan. Club badges are displayed on the front that show that this fine Oldsmobile was a 1988 AACA Senior First Place award winner and was also driven in the 1992 Bluegrass Bicentennial Glidden Tour. The Oldsmobile is still displayed in a manner that is indicative of this fine preparation. The exterior is finished in a two-tone blue with whitewall tires, steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and a unique radiator grille finished in gleaming burnished chrome. The lavish gray interior is fitted with extra-deep cushioned lounge-type seats and a brown dash with a radio and clock. Designed with performance and luxury in mind, the engine is the straight eight-cylinder mated with a three-speed manual transmission. The chassis has coil spring suspension and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes.
