A non-AMF motorcycle and a very unusual and seldom found 1982 Sturgis in factory Dark Brown metallic with gold accents. The Sturgis was first introduced in 1981 as an all black bike with orange stripes. In 1982, Harley continued with the model after the management bought out AMF and began production and a new era. The commerative front fender badge on this bike celebrates the takeover of AMF by Harley-Davidson. These bikes had what was then considered a radical approach to the primary and final drive system utilizing an all new dual belt system as opposed to the traditional chain system. The brown 1982 models are seldom encountered for sale as they are more rare than the black 1981 models.
