Dating back to the beginning of its production in 1992, the Ferrari 456 belies its years with a modern and sleek design. Elegant styling by Pininfarina affords this car its status as an attractive grand tourer, and it is the first four-seater V-12 to come from the Maranello factory since the preceding 412 that also deployed a front-engine, rear-wheel drive set-up. The car’s name is derived from its engine capacity at 5.5 litres, with each cylinder measuring 456 cubic centimetres, combining for 442 bhp overall to propel the Ferrari to speeds of over 186 mph. The 456 was built with either a four-speed automatic or six-speed manual gearbox, with this example having been equipped with Ferrari’s classic gated manual transmission.

Delivered new to Italy in 1997, this 456 is finished in the attractive colour combination of Argento Nurburgring over a red interior, prominently featuring leather and deep-pile carpet. A Ferrari-branded stereo is found in the centre console, which combines with the 10-disc CD changer in the boot. The car is offered with selected Ferrari printed manuals stored in a tan leather wallet and custom leather luggage with thin, green, protective covers. Accompanying the car is a Ferrari service manual with workshop stamps from marque specialists in 2009, 2014 and 2018. Selected invoices date back to 1998, with the most recent issued by Scuderia Gohm GmbH of Vösendorf, Austria, in 2018. Work at the Ferrari service centre included a timing belt, filter service, replacement of selected gaskets, new radiator, and rear shock absorbers, totalling in excess of €15,000. The odometer reads just over 14,600 km at the time of cataloguing, and the car is presented with an old Italian Libretto.
