The F512 M, or Modificata, marked the end of the road for Ferrari’s statement mid-engined Testarossa lineage. While the prominent side-strakes remained, the styling was updated for a late-1994 launch courtesy of new fixed headlamps, new taillights, plus the distinctive 18-inch spiral wheels supplied by Speedline. Revisions to the flat-12 engine resulted in a factory rating of 434 horsepower from 4,943 cc. Quick work of the five-speed gated manual gearbox could therefore return a 4.7-second sprint to 62 mph and a top speed of 196 mph.
The left-hand-drive example offered here was delivered new to Eberlein Ferrari in the German city of Kassel in April 1995, finished in the classic colour combination of Rosso Corsa over a Nero leather interior. Retained by its first owner for a decade, the F512 M surfaced for auction in June 2005 ahead of a stint in Monaco, where it was tended to by official Ferrari service centres Monaco Motors in July 2007 and Juan Auto Cannes in September 2012. The F512 M was subsequently registered from October 2015 in the United Kingdom. Under the care of two owners, the car visited Bob Houghton and Joe Macari for maintenance. Having sold in September 2019, the F512 M moved to the United Arab Emirates.
During its time in the Middle East, the Ferrari was regularly maintained by Lap57 Garage of Dubai. Between November 2019 and March 2023, the fuel tank and throttle bodies were cleaned and the air mass sensor replaced, as were the crank and cam sensors, idler control valve, plus fuel pressure regulators. Upon a December 2022 trip to authorised Ferrari dealer Al Tayer Motors, the F512 M was recorded as showing 33,516 kilometres.
Presented in its factory colour combination, this ultimate iteration of the Testarossa bloodline is accompanied by maintenance invoices and its owner’s manual.
Displaying 34,610 kilometres at the time of cataloguing, this example of the last road-going Ferrari to sport a flat-12 engine is sure to entice collectors, who might wish to make the most of its long-legged grand touring credentials.
