- Effectively a 34th example of the 550 Maranello ‘World Speed Record’ edition
- Supplied new to a Swedish client, who missed out on an original allocation
- Configured from the factory with the WSR-specification Fiorano handling pack, carbon bucket seats, four-point harnesses, and leather-trimmed roll cage
- Finished in its factory colours of Rosso Corsa over Beige Connolly hide
- Accompanied by its owner’s guides and Warranty Card plus Ferrari build records
Finished in Rosso Corsa over Beige Connolly leather with carpets in Castoro (light brown) and specified with the Fiorano handling pack, carbon bucket seats, four-point racing-style harnesses, plus a leather-trimmed roll cage: to all intents and purposes the Ferrari 550 Maranello offered here is a ‘World Speed Record’ edition made to celebrate the model setting a string of production car average speed records.
Interestingly enough, the prized Swedish client that ordered this 550 Maranello was rather disappointed to miss out on one of the original 33 WSRs commissioned. As such, Ferrari swiftly pushed through this extra example, not counted amongst the 33 WSRs built but outfitted to an identical specification. Please note, it does not feature a WSR commemorative plaque in the interior. The factory build record even states: “VERY URGENT CAR !!!!!!”. It was ultimately delivered new via Autoropa of Testvägen on 7 July 2000. Sweden’s sole licensed Ferrari importer continued to service the car through to March 2004, at which time it was logged with 38,002 kilometres.
Passing through an owner in Finland before being imported to the Netherlands, this fascinating 550 Maranello benefits from a most recent service in July 2024. Accompanied by its owner’s guides and Warranty Card, the odometer is currently showing 62,228 km.
A fascinating footnote to the story of the 550 Maranello WSR, this car is certainly one of the most interesting 550 Maranellos to come to market in recent memory, and would make an excellent addition to any collection as a car that can easily be driven and enjoyed.
