Naming an automobile after one of the most celebrated Formula 1 drivers of all time was a bold move for McLaren. With the unveiling of the Senna at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, McLaren sought to prove to the world that it had built a car worthy of its legendary namesake, a driver who had brought the company three Drivers’ and Constructors’ championships in Formula 1. Seeking to provide an unrivaled and unrelenting driving experience both on the road and on the track, the Senna showcased incredible attention to detail and focus on exerting every possible ounce of performance from both its drivetrain and chassis.

The Senna’s rear wing was arguably its most striking feature, heralding the car’s exceptional active aerodynamics. A substantial raised splitter and dynamic winglets at the front direct airflow under the body, while warm air from the radiators is funneled over the roof and channeled across that enormous active rear wing. Hydraulically controlled, this wing continuously adjusts to optimize downforce, function as an air brake, or minimize drag. At 250 km/h, the Senna generates up to 800 kilograms of downforce, a 40 percent improvement over the P1.

Eschewing the P1’s use of a hybrid powertrain, the Senna is powered solely by a modified 4.0-litre twin-turbo V-8—code-named M840TR—delivering 789 horsepower. It features dry-sump lubrication, lightweight forged components, and ultra-low-inertia, twin-scroll turbochargers with electronic wastegates for instant throttle response. Air is fed to the engine through a bespoke carbon-fiber intake plenum and roof-mounted snorkel. Formula One-inspired Brembo carbon brakes with integrated cooling vanes deliver exceptional stopping power to rein in this performance, enabling the Senna to halt from 200 km/h in just 100 meters, a new benchmark for production cars.

Purchased new by the consignor in September of 2018 via McLaren Geneva, this Senna is the 218th example constructed of just 500 built. Its stunning paintwork, called Liquid Alloy Silver, is a shade offered exclusively via McLaren Special Operations and seldom seen on any Senna due to its extreme cost and complexity. The wheels are finished in black alongside McLaren Orange brake calipers, while the interior is trimmed in Carbon Black Alcantara with McLaren Orange stitching and seat belts, providing a contrasting touch. In early 2019, the car was covered in full paint protection film which in an effort to preserve its spectacular paintwork. Invoices on file show that the car has been serviced at McLaren Geneva, with the third and fourth year services carried out in February 2023 and the fifth year service carried out in October 2024.

With the ever increasing focus on hybrid and electric supercars in today’s market, McLaren’s Senna is emerging as a highly enticing proposition to many enthusiasts and collectors, thanks to its exceptional performance, unashamed focus on performance, and limited production. As one would expect with such a low mileage example, showing just 100 km from new at the time of cataloging, this particular Senna is presented in exceptional condition both inside and out, having been exceptionally well preserved by its first and only owner.
