Over the course of the 21st century, Ferrari has increasingly expanded its capacity for cosmetic customization. Nearly every client looking to order their own Ferrari directly from Maranello wants to make their car truly unique, and with Ferrari, the sky really is the limit.
It would only make sense that with a car such as the Monza SP2, a car inspired by Ferrari’s motorsport success in the 1950s and 1960s, that buyers would be drawn towards Ferraris of yesteryear when sitting at their local dealership envisioning how to make their new Monza SP2 their own.
With only 499 examples said to have been produced by Ferrari between the single-seat Monza SP1 and the SP2, this was an exclusive automobile only available to Ferrari’s most loyal clients. Making this example even more special is the fact that it benefits from a configuration done through Ferrari’s Tailor Made department, an honour bestowed on only a handful of Monzas, and this example’s specification is truly one of a kind.
The specification on the Monza SP2 offered here was inspired by a livery first seen on a 250 Testa Rossa built in 1958, more specifically chassis no. 0742 TR. Sold new to Finland, that car was raced when new in Scandinavia and Northern Europe and boasted dark blue paintwork with white accents highlighting the Testa Rossa’s seductive bodywork, accented by a red leather interior.
The Monza SP2 takes a more modern interpretation on this colour scheme, once again utilizing a dark blue base with white accents to highlight its stunning design. More specifically, it is finished in Blu Swaters and Bianco Avus for its racing livery and roundels. Furthermore, the car boasts airbrushed Scuderia shields and the Monza SP2 logo on the rear fin. The interior is trimmed in heritage Bordeaux leather, carefully distressed and aged to appear lovingly worn in over time. Five-spoke silver wheels and matching brake calipers help the car to keep its classic look.
Carbon fibre options are numerous, including engine covers, air filter, wheel arches, front splitter, rear diffuser, front air vents, under door covers, door sills, and the front luggage compartment all finished in carbon fibre. The Monza SP2 is also equipped with four-point harnesses in black, Apple Carplay, a suit holder, front and rear parking cameras, a yellow rev counter, and wheel stud bolts in titanium, and the suspension lifter.
Having covered some 2,800 km , the Monza SP2 is offered from single ownership from new. Built to European specifications, its last service was carried out by Scuderia Monte Carlo, the official Ferrari dealership in Monaco. Importantly, the car will be serviced by Charles Pozzi Paris prior to being sold, and a new Ferrari warranty can be obtained by Charles Pozzi Paris through separate negotiation.
A true highlight of Ferrari’s 21st-century offerings, the Monza SP2 beautifully mixes modern performance (courtesy of the drivetrain of an 812 Superfast) with styling inspired by Ferrari’s rich history. With its Barchetta-style bodywork, opening you up to the elements as well as the sound of its 6.5-litre V-12 engine, this gives you a modern Ferrari driving experience like nothing else. Allowing you the luxury of sharing the driving experience with a passenger, the Monza SP2 is arguably the one to have, and it would be difficult to find a more beautifully specified example than this.
