For the first 34 years of its lifetime, the Porsche 911 would be fitted with a variation of its iconic air-cooled flat-six engine. The mid-1990s would see the introduction of the 911’s 993 generation, which offered an ideal blend of technology and heritage—and it also served as a true sendoff to the famed air-cooled powertrain, as subsequent generations would use water-cooled engines. This final-model-year 911 Carrera Cabriolet completed production on 23 July 1997, and was sold to its first owner through Brookfield Motor Car Company in Wisconsin. As documented by its original window sticker, the open-top 911 left the showroom floor in Glacier White with a Black top and a Cashmere/Black-partial interior. Sophisticated styling was further refined by optional 18-inch wheels with Technology rims, technic package, and an aluminum/leather shifter.

Remaining in Wisconsin for less than a year, this car would relocate to California, along with its original owner, by mid-1998. Routine maintenance was conducted by Sonnen Porsche of San Mateo, California according to accompanying service records. Lovingly preserved in a temperate climate, the open-top 911 saw limited road use before being sold to the White Collection in 2014; at the time of cataloguing, the car displays just 9,694 miles.

Following the purchase, new bumper seals, glove box lining, and battery were installed. Under the care of the collection, the cabriolet’s matching-numbers engine was regularly run to operating temperature each month to preserve its high-quality mechanical standing. The car will be accompanied by top boot, tools, original window sticker and owner’s books, and a document binder.

This showroom-new, low-mileage 993-generation cabriolet offers the chance to own an example of the ultimate air-cooled, open-top 911. Tastefully specified, you will be hard-pressed to find another example in such condition, making this a wonderful acquisition for the astute Porsche collector.
