The 365 GT 2+2 offered here, chassis number 12333, was originally delivered to renowned car enthusiast William F. Harrah’s West Coast Ferrari distributorship, Modern Classic Motors, in Reno, Nevada. It was finished in Argento Metallizzato with Rosso (VM 3171) leather and road-tested for a feature article in the November 1969 issue of Road & Track magazine as such. This is confirmed by a photograph of the chassis number tag featured on page 42! Persistent rumour also holds that it was used by Mr Harrah as a personal car, as mentioned in the article.

The car was sold new in 1969 and was later acquired in the 1970s by John Davidson, the American singer and television game show host, with whom it was listed in Ferrari Owners’ Club USA rosters with his wife, Jacqueline. It was sold in the late 1980s to David Dworsky, of Hidden Hills, California, and remained in his ownership for some years before being sold to another enthusiast owner in California.

Following a restoration in the 2000s, the car was damaged in an accident whilst cruising down 17 Mile Drive near Pebble Beach. It was sold in that condition to Tom Shaughnessy and was eventually acquired, with a new beige interior, by its present owner. The car was subsequently repaired, restored, and refinished in Nero and has remained part of the owner’s collection since.

This recently restored “Queen Mary” invites close inspection, and it would make for a delightful grand touring Ferrari for its new owner and three friends.

La 365 GT 2+2 qui offerta, numero di telaio 12333, fu consegnata nuova alla concessionaria ufficiale della costa ovest del noto appassionato William F.Harrah, Modern Classic Motors a Reno, Nevada. La macchina era originariamente rifinita in Argento Metallizzato con gli interni in pelle Rosso (VM 3171) e fu usata per i test di Road & Track per l'articolo di novembre 1969. Questo fatto è confermato dalla fotografia del numero di telaio che si trova a pagina 42 della rivista. Stando a quello che viene detto nell'articolo, si ritiene che molto probabilmente quest'auto fosse quella personale del Sig.Harrah.

Quest'auto fu venduta nuova nel 1969 e fu successivamente acquistata negli anni '70 da John Davidson, il famoso cantante americano e presentatore di giochi televisivi, iscritto insieme alla moglie Jacqueline nei registri del Ferrari Club U.S.A. L'auto fu venduta poi alla fine degli anni '80 a David Dworsky di Hidden Hills, California, e rimase nella sua proprietà per diversi anni prima di essere venduta ad un altro appassionato californiano.

Successivamente ai lavori di restauro svolti negli anni 2000, l'auto subì un incidente mentre stava viaggiando lungo il 17 Mile Drive nelle vicinanze di Pebble Beach. Fu venduta in queste condizioni a Tom Shaughnessy e da lui acquistata. Lui stesso la fornì poi di un nuovo interno beige. L'auto è stata successivamente riparata, restaurata e rifinita in Nero ed è entrata a far parte della collezione del proprietario da allora.

Questa "Altair" è una meravigliosa Ferrari Gran Turismo per il suo nuovo proprietario e tre suoi amici, molto confortevole grazie allo servosterzzo, all’aria condizzionata ed ai vetri elettrici.
