  • Finished in attractive Starmist Blue over Medium and Light Blue; Features both convertible tops and Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels

245 bhp, 312 cu. in. OHV V-8 engine with a single four-barrel carburetor, two-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission, independent wishbone front suspension, live rear axle, and four-wheel hydraulic brakes. Wheelbase: 102 in.

The 1957 Thunderbird is considered by many to be the most desirable year for the model, as it introduced slight changes to the 1956 model that resonated well with the public. The rear body was lengthened by six inches, allowing for more luggage space and room for a spare tire, and additional engine options were also offered, including the 312-cubic inch “E-Bird” and the supercharged “F-Bird.” Ford originally hoped to build 10,000 Thunderbirds for the year, but sales and production both exceeded their expectations, resulting in 16,155 examples being produced before production transitioned to the restyled 1958 “Squarebird.”

This 1957 Thunderbird resided in the state of California in the late 1990s before it moved to Dallas. It is finished in its correct color combination of Starmist Blue over a two-tone Medium and Light Blue and features a white porthole hardtop, a blue tonneau, and a convertible soft-top, as well as the desirable engine dress-up kit, a Town & Country AM radio, and a two-speed Ford-O-Matic transmission. The odometer shows under 850 miles, all of which were accumulated following the car’s restoration, and it still shows quite well overall.
