Launched in 2015, the Ferrari FXX-K followed in the footsteps of its older sibling, the Enzo-based Ferrari FXX. Based on the LaFerrari, the FXX-K was designed solely as a track car for Ferrari's most select clientele, and was a major step up from the previous 599XX that had been previously sold. Powered by a 6.3-litre V-12 engine working in harmony with a 140 kW electric motor, the combined power output of the FXX-K stood at an eye-watering 1,036 horsepower. Just 40 examples were built from 2015 to 2017.
As with previous "XX" iterations of Ferrari track cars, an "Evo" example followed, and on 28 October 2017, Ferrari unveiled the FXX-K Evo. Benefitting from an advanced aerodynamics package, the Evo highlighted Ferrari's mastery of the wind tunnel, with a further 23% more downforce due to front end modifications, a larger rear wing, and underbody diffusers.
This 1:2 scale example is a genuine wind tunnel model from the Ferrari factory. The third built during the final phase of development, this model was used during the design process of the Ferrari FXX-K Evo.
Presented in black, and sitting on a baseplate measuring 110 x 260 centimetres, the model can be mounted on either the floor or the wall! For owners and enthusiasts, this presents what is arguably an unrepeatable opportunity to acquire a significant development piece from the Maranello factory.
