The Triumph TR6 was the most popular product offering in the TR range by the time production ended in mid-1976, with a total production of a reported 91,850 units. All TR6s featured the virtually bulletproof inline six-cylinder engines, which put out a stout 100-plus horsepower in naturally-aspirated, U.S.-spec form with twin Stromberg side-draft carburetors. The chassis has independent front suspension with unequal-length A-arms, coil springs and anti-roll bar, rigid rear axle with semi-trailing arms and coil springs, hydraulic front disc and rear drum brakes. The TR6 featured a four-speed manual transmission, which lent itself to long cruises on rolling country roads or higher-speed motorway travel.
This yellow with black example has received a recent repaint and various mechanical refurbishing and is reported to remain in very nice condition. This includes having a new interior that includes the leather seats and carpet. The interior is also highlighted by distinctive wood trim elements, which includes a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The car has been used sparingly since this work has been completed. In total, the restoration of the TR6 has had approximately $25,000 invested into it and comes with the receipts to verify. Among the additional features are a heater, modern AM/FM radio, tonneau cover and matching top boot, as well as a removable hardtop that is also finished in black.
