After applying the GTO moniker to the high-performance version of the 599 GTB, Ferrari chose to revive another storied name from its past for the high-performance version of the F12 Berlinetta: Tour de France.

Dubbed F12tdf, Ferrari produced just 799 examples for its very best customers and wrung out every possible ounce of performance by shedding weight from and adding power to its front-engine V-12 flagship. Horsepower was raised to 769 bhp (from 730 bhp) and 110 kilograms of weight was dropped. It takes just 2.9 seconds to accelerate to 62 mph and 124 mph will arrive precisely five seconds later. To put this performance into perspective, the F12tdf will lap Fiorano in 1:21:00, 1.3 seconds after the LaFerrari.

This F12tdf’s first owner took advantage of Ferrari’s factory atelier in Maranello and created a unique and stunning example with almost every available option selected. The Ferrari is finished in the historic and seldom seen color of Rosso Dino, a bright red that almost appears orange in a certain light, with the “GTO” livery in Canna Di Fucile. The interior is fully trimmed in Nero Alcantara with Rosso highlights and detailing with a Giallo rev counter.

Showcasing the car’s high-performance nature, numerous carbon fiber options were selected, including dashboard inserts, rear shelf, fog lamps, headlight buckets, door stills, and carbon fiber racing seats. Other options include 20-in. forged dark-painted wheels, suspension lifter, front and rear parking cameras, passenger display, and high-power hi-fi audio system.

Delivered new to Ferrari of Long Island, the F12tdf has remained in virtually new condition throughout, having only been driven less than 400 miles. Additionally, the car’s factory warranty remains in place until July 2019 and it is covered under the Ferrari Genuine Maintenance program until July 2023. With that program, the car’s new owner is given peace of mind should they wish to take it to the open road.

Without question the ultimate iteration of the F12 Berlinetta, the F12tdf currently reigns supreme in Ferrari hierarchy as the fastest, road-legal, front-engined Berlinetta. That said, the F12tdf is truly a modern-day collectible that will continue to be held in high esteem by collectors and enthusiasts alike. This F12tdf stands out from its peers thanks to its unique specification and eye-catching Rosso Dino paintwork. There is no doubt that this is among the most beautifully sculpted and designed Ferraris, and it more than pays homage to its historic racing namesake.
