The Ferrari F430 was the realization of a new, upgraded version of Ferrari’s initial 21st-century sports car, the 360 Modena. Debuting as a berlinetta at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, less than a year later, Ferrari unveiled the spider version in March 2005 at the Geneva International Motor Show.

Though similar in philosophy and design to the 360, the F430 was the necessary successor; its mechanical improvements and updated styling ushered in a new era of performance Ferraris. Its contemporary looks incorporated cues from the 1961 Ferrari 156 Grand Prix race car—most notably, the front intakes. The model also featured larger side intakes, a race-inspired rear diffuser, and Enzo-style taillights, all of which accented the overall aggression of the F430.

Technical advancements were in no short supply on the F430, which utilized a brand-new 4.3-liter 90-degree flat-plane-crank V-8 producing 480 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. A paddle-operated semi-automatic “F1” transmission came standard on the F430, although a six-speed manual transmission (featuring Ferrari’s famous chrome gated shift assembly) was available in very limited numbers for only the most discerning tifosi.

This 2006 F430 on offer is a highly desirable gated six-speed manual example; just 216 such chassis were reportedly so equipped for the North American market. Delivered new to Ferrari of San Diego, it is finished in Nero over a Nero leather interior and complemented with tasteful Daytona-style inserts on the seats, special-order gray stitching, carbon fiber trim, and a Giallo tachometer. Additional factory specifications include polished wheels, Pirelli tires, and an upholstered leather headliner. Of those very few manual F430 coupes produced for the US market, this example is surely a one-off creation on account of its Nero paintwork and tailored configuration.

According to invoices on file dated to March 2019, Ferrari of San Francisco completed nearly $7,000 of mechanical servicing, which included the installation of a new OEM clutch. As presented today, the odometer displays only 12,289 miles at time of cataloguing.

This stunning six-speed F430 berlinetta will be accompanied by a car cover, manuals, air compressor, window sticker copy, service invoices, and trickle charger. With its combination of fantastic looks and exceptional performance, this exceedingly well-configured example is ready to command the most winding of roads with the pleasure of spirited driving.
