The Ferrari 812 Superfast made its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. The successor to the F12berlinetta, the new 812 Superfast—marketed by Maranello as “the fastest and most powerful Ferrari yet”—filled the role as Ferrari’s two-seat, front-engine V-12, rear-wheel-drive grand tourer flagship. It more than lived up to its evocative name: Upon release, some commentators in the automotive media aptly, and without irony, deemed it “too fast” for roadgoing enjoyment.

Offered here is a bespoke example crafted through Ferrari’s Tailor Made program and finished in May 2018. It is quite possibly the most uniquely and thoroughly specified 812 Superfast yet offered on the public market; in fact, its factory personalization plate features a noticeably smaller font—and even then, it can barely fit over 75 line-items.

Clad in custom Extra Campionario Giallo Nancy paint with exclusive Tricolore, Canna di Fucile (gunmetal grey), and carbon fiber flourishes throughout, there is scarcely a surface, finish, or detail present which has not been modified to the fullest capabilities of the marque’s custom-order program. The handwritten meeting notes and original specifications form created in Maranello during the consignor’s Tailor Made design meeting, included on file, underscore the in-depth nature of the specification process.

The front and rear fascia’s feature prominent quantities of additional carbon fiber elements which have been further anointed with the marque’s special Tricolore paintwork—a touch which follows the carbon fiber side skirts and sills along the car’s exterior profile to a terminus on the broad rear deck. A set of 20-inch staggered forged alloy wheels, sporting a matte Canna di Fucile finish, are wrapped in a set of high-performance Pirelli tires; calipers for the standard carbon ceramic brakes are finished in custom red paint. The same dark grey matte finish can be found on the tailpipes, mirror stems, and rear fascia, each of which is respectively enriched by neighboring matte carbon fiber accoutrements. The pair of iconic Cavallino Rampante fender badges are here airbrushed, not enameled—yet another custom touch.

Inside, the cockpit of this unique 812 Superfast is a luxuriously appointed amalgam of yellow and black, with each detail finished to a superb quality in a variety of specially selected materials. A central Giallo tachometer display sits behind a steering wheel constructed of carbon fiber with additional F1-inspired elements, perforated leather trim, color-matched contrast stitching, and extensive Tricolore details. The door panels, handles, footwells, sills, kickplates, dash inserts, central console, and transmission bridge have all been specified in matte carbon fiber with additional matching Nero, Giallo, and Canna di Fucile trim—a truly exorbitant package indeed. The embroidered headrests feature double-sized Cavallino logos finished in cut-to-sample thread which has been color matched to the one-off exterior paint. Incredibly, the Alcantara headliner features the “starlight” option, with yellow perforations that stand out from the black headliner.

With over $249,000 of optional and special equipment listed on the accompanying window sticker, this Tailor Made 812 Superfast originally carried a MSRP pushing nearly $600,000 USD. This chassis has covered just under 1,900 miles since new and is accompanied by a copy of its original window sticker, owner’s manuals, tools, battery tender, and car cover with bag.

With its astonishing power, breathtaking performance, and stunning design, the 812 Superfast is the pinnacle in a long line of Ferrari grand tourers and a must-have for any diehard tifosi. This unique example is eminently suitable for a collector seeking a demonstration of Ferrari’s Tailor Made program at its finest and most extensive.
