This 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet is a remarkable find, being finished in a rare factory color of paint-to-sample Granite Green Metallic (L699). The beautifully coordinated interior is outfitted with Linen leather and features a dark green dashboard to complement the exterior. A special-order gray-green (F3V7) fabric top and boot cover tie the stunning and rarely seen color scheme together.
Originally delivered to Rockville, Maryland, the car benefits from just two owners from new. Wonderfully preserved, it shows just over 30,100 miles on the odometer at cataloguing time and has been driven sparingly since the consignor acquired it from the original owner in June 2022.
Power comes from Porsche’s familiar and well-loved 3.2-liter flat-six engine mated to a G50 five-speed manual transaxle. Understood to be highly original, this 911 Carrera Cabriolet is further equipped with air conditioning, power windows, heated power-adjustable mirrors, and integrated foglamps. Furthermore, it came well specified from the factory with desirable options, including sport shock absorbers, a shortened shift lever, 16-inch forged Fuchs wheels, a power-operated soft top, cruise control, and a Blaupunkt Reno cassette radio.
Invoices on file indicate that the car was routinely serviced at Rockville Porsche-Audi in the 2000s, with minor damage to the left front fender repaired at a body shop in Maryland in 2003. More recently, the battery was replaced and instrument gauges repaired in 2020, while the oil lines and tires were replaced in 2021. Included in the history file are original purchase documents and service invoices from the selling dealer dating back to 1988, proving the constant care bestowed upon this cabriolet from new.
Beautifully presented in a rare and exquisite color scheme, this wonderfully preserved and well-documented, two-owner 911 Carrera Cabriolet is truly a gem surely to be cherished by Porsche collectors and enthusiasts.
