Carries three passengers, two in the front and one in the rear. To be drawn by one goat. Fully elliptical longitudinal leaf spring suspension. Length: 1,640 mm
The sporty open two-seat carriages of the wealthy would often feature an additional seat for a groom, mounted at the rear of the vehicle on long, spindly outriggers known as the “spider”. The nickname would be given to the entire carriage of this design and would eventually evolve to refer to a sporting two-passenger open automobile.
The spider here, made by Ferrari of Milano, is a delightful smaller model built for the enjoyment of children, and it was originally intended to be drawn by a goat! The beautifully crafted wooden body, with superb proportions, is finished in dark blue with red finish on the iron wheels. It is mounted on fully elliptical longitudinal leaf spring suspension with fixed support for the reins, as well as a control arm that helps to brake the vehicle. Two beautifully crafted iron carriage lamps are mounted on wooden posts at the front of the vehicle.
