Launched for the 2007 model year, the 599 GTB Fiorano proved a monumental achievement for Ferrari. Built in the mould of Maranello’s legendary grand tourers, with its front-mounted 12-cylinder engine, the 599 was luxuriously appointed and capable of covering vast distances in absolute comfort. It was also one of the most accomplished sporting machines the company had ever produced, thanks in no small part to the 6.0-litre Tipo F140 engine borrowed from none other than the Ferrari Enzo.

Producing a staggering 612 horsepower and 448 pound-feet of torque, the 599 GTB was capable of reaching 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds and storming on to a top speed of 205 mph. The significance of the car’s performance wasn’t lost on Maranello’s marketing department, which promptly produced a video of the 599 GTB duelling with—and ultimately outpacing—Ferrari royalty in the form of the celebrated F40. And its achievements didn’t stop there: thanks to a traction control system developed for the Scuderia’s Formula 1 cars, the 599 GTB could also out-accelerate everything from its Enzo forebear to the lauded McLaren F1.

Despite its blistering turn of pace, the 599 GTB was also a hugely capable and comfortable grand tourer. It became just the second Ferrari after its F430 stablemate to feature the il manettino—or “little lever”—dial on the steering wheel, which featured five settings to adjust traction damper settings and throttle mapping. The multi-functional seats, meanwhile, were developed by Recaro, and featured adjustable pneumatic support for both hips and ribs, providing a drive as secure during high-speed manoeuvring as it was comfortable during long-distance touring.

Chassis 164832 was delivered new to Hong Seh Motors in 2008 directly from the factory, configured in right-hand-drive UK specification. The car is tastefully presented in Grigio Silverstone over a contrasting red leather interior and boasts a number of desirable options including a carbon-fibre interior components, Rosso brake callipers, Giallo instruments, and Daytona-style seats, not to mention an impressive list of standard equipment that included carbon-ceramic disc brakes. However, the most notable feature of this remarkable example is without doubt its mileage: at the time of cataloguing the odometer read just 267 kilometres, doubtless accumulated during pre-delivery testing.

Offered in showroom condition, this well specified right-hand-drive 599 GTB retains its matching-numbers engine and is accompanied by a full complement of service books and owner’s manuals, leather folio, and car cover.
