  • An early Land Rover with fascinating provenance
  • Completed 15 May 1952 and purchased new for use at Saab Airport in Linköping, Sweden
  • Dispatched 20 May 1952 to Wiklunds of Stockholm, Sweden, which added 16 inches to its chassis, driveline and body; quite possibly the sole example on a 96-in. wheelbase
  • Used by the airport’s fire department from 1953 until at least 2000—an impressive, nearly half-century-long history of service
  • 2.0-liter overhead-valve inline-four engine and four-speed manual gearbox; on-demand 4-by-4
  • Largely unrestored condition, save for front-seat upholstery repair and a new removable fabric top; appealing patina reflecting decades of careful use and faithful service
  • Odometer displays 41,092 km (~25,534 mi.) at cataloguing, believed to be original
  • Accompanied by tool set, hammer, jack, winch handle, spare tire, and a selection of spare parts
  • Documented with Saab Airport logbook, history file including photos of the airport’s fleet through the years, and British Motor Industries Heritage Trust certificate
