Packard introduced the One-Twenty in 1935 as a part of its “Junior” series. The car was designed to compete in the mid-range eight-cylinder engine market, which it did quite successfully. It offered customers the prestige of Packard ownership at a much more affordable price. The success of Packard’s “Junior” series was pivotal to company surviving the Great Depression.

This stunning 1941 Packard One-Twenty Convertible Coupe has been the beneficiary of a meticulous restoration. Presented in Laguna Maroon with a new black Haartz convertible top, the car shows beautifully. This vehicle is reported to have had only four owners and is believed to be one of only 25 cars to have been originally ordered with the One-Eighty trim package. Additional exterior highlights include the original grille and new custom made running boards. The car rides on wide whitewall radial tires with factory wheel covers.

Powering this One-Twenty is a 282-cid straight eight-cylinder engine, which is reported to have less than 2,000-miles on it since the restoration was completed. During it’s rebuild the engine was bored .040 over and the crankshaft was ground .010 on both rod journals and main journals. The engine is paired to a three-speed column-shift manual transmission with overdrive and a new clutch. With the overdrive and the addition of an auxiliary cooling fan this Packard is capable of comfortably cruising at 70-mph.

The interior was completed by John Keppit, and is presented in marron with a tan dash and white steering wheel. It features an AM radio, clock, deluxe heater and the added safety of an aftermarket Yankee Turnflex turn signal system. The consignor states the gauges, deluxe heater and power convertible top are all in working order.

With its One-Eighty trim package and stunning condition, this unique Packard One-Twenty would make a great addition to any collection.
